Meet the Team
J. David Gibson IV - Vice President
A Columbia, South Carolina, native, David Gibson is a graduate of Irmo High School. He attended Wofford College with a baseball scholarship. There he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in physics in 1998 and began graduate studies at the University of South Carolina in electrical engineering. The work world called and David responded by accepting a position with Milliken & Company in Abbeville, SC. After a little over a year with Milliken and 18 months with Hexcel-Schwebel Corporation in Statesville, NC, David joined his father at Gibson & Associates. His timing coincided with the launch of the firm’s first comprehensive trade association health insurance plan. As a result, David was able to make an immediate impact in sales and service, supporting manufacturers throughout South Carolina. David currently serves as Vice President and is licensed to sell all types of insurance products including Health, Dental, Disability, Life, Supplemental, Property, Casualty, and Surety. He lives in Irmo, South Carolina with his wife Casey, daughter Kelley and sons James and Jacob.
Michael P. Gibson - Vice President
Michael Gibson is a native of Columbia, South Carolina and a 2002 graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Accounting. The 2002 recipient of the Light Kinney Award, he was recognized as the senior member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity as outstanding leader and representative for the fraternity and the College. He joined his father and brother in Gibson & Associates in September 2002. Michael has worked in sales and service support, helping client groups with their various needs. Michael is licensed to sell all types of insurance products including Health, Dental, Disability, Life and 401K retirement plans. He currently serves as Vice President of Finance. He lives with his wife Elizabeth, a part-time support team member of Gibson & Associates, and their daughter Emma in Irmo, South Carolina.
